The most important thing you can do when you are getting ready to use the BookSku system for the first time is READ THE HELP ARTICLES. You should also read the BookSku requirements page, as this contains important information about using BookSku.
The BookSku team has provided a help article for each menu link in the system. These articles are designed to familiarize you with the ins and outs of BookSku. Please note that you can search the help system using the link at the top right. This search is for the help system ONLY; if you want to search your inventory database, you need to use the link under the SEARCH/EDIT menu.
You should notice that on almost every page, there are “(?)” links. This is our in-line help system. Most of these links point to the Glossary and the FAQ.
After you have read through the help system, the next step is to set up BookSku to your specific needs. You can do this at the MANAGEMENT → Seller Settings page. If you are importing straight from Amazon.com, put the Amazon login info in but do not enable the Automation flag yet. Then set the Ignore Orders Before to the date when you last processed orders. Also, don’t forget to set your address in here. This will be used as the return address on your packing slips.
Now you can import your inventory. Go to MANAGEMENT → Inventory Import to bring in your data. Make sure you read the help article on this page before importing. Now you can go back to MANAGEMENT → Seller Settings and put in the rest of your login info (ABE, Alibris, etc.) and enable Upload/Download and Confirmation for each venue. To ensure proper interoperation with every venue, please take the time to read the Venue Setup articles for the venues you sell on, under the “SALES VENUES” heading.
After you have your data in BookSku, you can catalog new items (DATA ENTRY → Item Catalog or Bulk Catalog), process new orders (ORDER PROCESSING → Process Orders), run reports (REPORTING → ***), etc.
Note: You must create all your new listings directly via BookSku itself. Listings posted directly to venue websites, or via 3rd party tools will not be repriced, will not be properly managed in a cross-venue manner, and may cause errors.
If you have a question or problem and you can’t find the answer in our help files, please feel free to use the support contact form.
Thank you for trying BookSku, we hope it will fulfill all of your online bookselling needs!
